Rebozo Relaxation Session
The Rebozo is a woven piece of cloth originally used by Mexican women as a shawl, a baby carrier, and a comfort and optimal baby positioning tool during pregnancy and labor. It is also used postpartum in a traditional “closing of the bones” ritual. Knowledge of this versatile tool has grown and it is now used by midwives and doulas around the world.

Prenatal Session: $50 for a 45 minute session
The mother’s belly is gently sifted while she relaxes on pillows and a birth ball, followed by gentle rocking from her head down to her toes. These movements relax and support the mothers ligaments and gently rock the baby into an optimal position for birth.
Postpartum Session: $50 for a 45 minute session
Session is typically held 6 weeks postpartum. The mother is wrapped and held in multiple rebozos. This aids in the pelvic bones returning to their pre-pregnancy placement and avoids future pelvic instability. Beyond the physical aspect of closing of the bones, there is a spiritual aspect, which provides a safe space for the mother to feel nurtured and release emotions associated with the birth and motherhood. Partners or loved ones are encouraged to attend.
Before a postpartum session, breastfeeding moms are recommended to feed the baby just before it begins, and have someone who can care for your infant while you relax. Take a bath infused with lavender or other relaxing herbs before my arrival so you are already in a relaxed state, and if possible take a nap after the session. This is the time to honor and celebrate your new life as a mother.
Both sessions make excellent baby shower gifts and certificates are available.
